

Night-SoulsI melt past the houses; no lights are on as I stroll through my neighborhood three hours before dawn. A full moon is shining looking down like an eye only she sees me wander -ing lazily by. I've no real objective, destination or goal. I'm just joining the ranks of all restless night-souls. We walk towards another and wonder a bit maybe mutter 'hello' then we both stop and sit. No more is needed, and no more is said. We're just two companions who've abandoned our beds.Night-Souls


The VineyardThe vineyard rustles softly in the breeze while spry young workers walk 'twixt vines and trees. As younger hands move deftly through the leaves, the old man watches all; a sigh he heaves.The Vineyard
He turns his mind to thoughts of yesteryear and to his friends who've long since disappeared. That tyrant Time has stolen ev'ry one. And soon, he knows that his time too, will come.
The men retire from their exhausting task and guzzle sweet new wine from last year's cask. The cups are passed and each man has a drink and more and more 'til none can even think.
